Face Forward International, in partnership with Without Exception Films, recently hosted a marquee screening of Unveiling the Scars, the third episode of the Unmuted documentary series. The episode highlights survivors of gender-based violence and the resilience of communities advocating for healing and justice, with a focus on acid violence survivor voices.
We were deeply honored to amplify the stories of inspiring survivors — Davina Licon, Rebecca, and Andreas (Face Forward UK Survivor Ambassador) — and to connect the film’s message to Face Forward’s ongoing work, which provides life-changing surgeries and care for survivors from over 14 countries.
Following the screening, a heartfelt panel discussion brought together advocates, survivors, and caregivers to explore pathways for recovery and systemic change, grounding the stories in real-world action and support.
A huge thank you to Picture Motion and Face Forward LA for bringing these vital stories to light, and to everyone who joined us for an unforgettable evening of storytelling, courage, and community.
